Advantages of Internet 

1) Employment Opportunities: With increasing presence of organizations on the Internet, many career opportunities have been created like that of web administrators, web designers, and web developers. 

2) Improved Data Flow: E-mails can be delivered in seconds, anywhere in the world. 

3) Increased Reach: The Internet has brought the world closer.

4) Access to Knowledge: The Internet can be easily considered as a vast encyclopedia containing the latest information on almost all the subjects. 

5) Online Communication: The Internet offers online chat facility that is, a two-way communication interactive. 

6) E-Business: All sorts of business functions like ordering of items, making quotations, payment of bills, exchange of business documents can be carried out on the Internet. 

7) No Discrimination: The Internet does not discriminate (distinguish) between users. It allows communication to take place all over the world without preference being given to a specific person, organization, or country. 

8) Reduced Cost: Unnecessary and avoidable expenditure such as stationery or printing cost, mailing cost, etc., is not involved in the Internet operations.

Disadvantages of Internet 

1) Addiction: Some people are getting addicted to the Internet and thus causing problems with their interactions of friends and parents. 

2) Loneliness: Peoples that use the Internet often are more likely to become lonely and depressed. 

3) Health Problem: Internet gaming gives people long time exposure to computer screens and bad sitting posture which can lead to various health problems. 

4) Theft of Personal Details: While using the Internet, there is high probability that personal details like name, address and credit card number may be accessed by cheater and used for fraudulent purposes. 

5) Pornography: Pornography is definitely harmful for children. There are numerous pornographic sites available over the Internet and watching any of those can have very bad influence on the mental health of children. 

6) Virus Threat: Virus is a program that interrupts the usual operation of personal computer system. Personal Computers (PCs) linked to the Internet have high probability of virus attacks and as a result of this hard disk can crash, giving user a lot of trouble.
